I am really liking this one a whole lot. The writer is doing an impressive job in keeping the plot moving with very few annoying characters one usually come to expect in a daily. I was gone for two weeks on vacation so I had a wonderful time of marathoning the last ten episodes.
This one is off to a good start. Judging by the first episode I think the story will follow a pretty formulaic plot line but that's okay by me.
Kitagawa Keiko's new drama about um...selling houses. I am strangely intrigued by this show even if Kitagawa Keiko's heroine is extremely odd and the robot like actions of the character actually makes the usually stunning Kitagawa Keiko less attractive. With so many promising J-drama popping up lately this one might get lost eventually but so far I am interested enough to at least watch the next episode.
Based on a manga of the same name, this one has an interesting premise of a high school girl falling in love with a boy because of his attractive voice...even if he wears a paper bag on his face. It took me a bit to get over the paper bag but this going sound kinda deranged ...I actually found the paper bag kinda good looking by the end of the first episode. Dang, that does sound deranged.
SO many J-romantic dramas lately that I don't even know what to do with myself. Focused on realizing her dream of becoming a pastry chef, our heroine has no time for relationships until her high school crush suddenly shows up and offers her a job at his restaurant. Showing up at her crush's seaside restaurant with stars in her eyes, our heroine's lovely dream of having a summer fling is rudely smashed to pieces when she encounters her crush's very unfriendly younger brother who is determined to kick her out.
I checked this one out on a lark the other day and was pleasantly surprised by how awesome it was. A prequel to The Lost Tomb (2015), the show starts with a mysterious train that suddenly appeared one night. Suspicious that the Japanese military is planning something evil against his precious city, our hero is determined to figure out why the mystery train was filled with dead bodies.
Just a warning, the hero (William Chan) won't meet his love interest (Zhao Li Ying) until episode 10 so the romance is more a secondary plot in this one but I personally find the suspense interesting enough to keep my attention even without the romance.
Such a cute show! I love the two leads' chemistry together. This one does give off a similar vibe as Oh My Ghost (2015) especially if it turns out this show also has a disturbing second male lead that hides a scary side underneath a super friendly image.
I totally shipped the wrong pairing on Oh My Ghost so that one didn't end too well for me. I am a bit scared that this one might not end well too since ...well the heroine is a ghost after all but the leads are so cute together I don't think I could stay away.
I know I have mentioned this J-drama before but writing about Kitagawa Keiko's new show made me think of it again. Buzzer Beat is one of my favorite J-romantic dramas that really reminded me of the Kimura Takuya's classics.
